He had his training in surgical gastroenterology and bariatric surgery from New Delhi, India & across the globe in Seoul (South Korea), France (Europe). Laparoscopic Surgery training done at IRCAD centre, Strasbourg . Anya Obesity and Gastro Surgicentre in Ahmedabad was started by Dr Anish Nagpal, who is extensively trained in the field of Gastrointestinal surgery and Bariatric Surgery or obesity surgery. Most of these surgeries are accomplished via a minimally invasive treatment or laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic surgery for weight loss is the standard way of losing excess fat in Morbid Obesity. His main interest area is the upper gastrointestinal surgery, Obesity surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, Colorectal Surgery and has an inclination towards surgical research. He is an Active Member of International Society of Surgery (ISS/SIC) and International Hepato-pancreato-biliary Association (IHPBA), Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of India (SELSI) and and published many articles in national and international journals. He is regularly updating himself in the field of GI Surgery and actively participating at various national and international conferences by presenting the work there.
